A Louisiana woman who was catapulted into cyber fame over the weekend after sharing that she’d put Gorilla Glue in her hair may be getting some much-needed assistance very soon.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, Dr. Michael Obeng, has offered to help Tessica Brown with her long-running Gorilla Glue saga. He’ll be doing the surgery, which is worth more than $12,000, for free.
Obeng told TMZ that Brown is flying to California on Wednesday and that it will take about three days to remove the glue from her hair.
He added that he was performing the procedure for free because he felt bad for Brown, who has chronicled her month-long battle against the glue in her hair on TikTok and Instagram.
Brown was rocketed into internet stardom last week when she posted a TikTok video explaining that a month ago, she put Gorilla Glue in her hair because she was out of the typical hair spray she uses, according to The Washington Post. Gorilla Glue is an industrial product used in construction for holding stones and metal together.
“I washed my hair 15 times and it don’t move. If you ever run out of Got2B glued spray, don’t ever, ever use this unless you want your hair to be like that forever,” she said in the first of her many videos.
In the video, the 40-year-old shows her glued down hair and rubs it profusely, proving it is indeed glued together. She said she has tried everything to get it out but cannot.
Stiff where????? Ma hair 🤬🤬
The video captivated many because of how outlandish it was, but many people felt bad for Brown and have followed the story hoping she could get help for her problem.
For days, some wondered if Brown was simply pulling a prank for clout. But she has since released multiple videos of her going at her head with a variety of products to no avail.
The videos now have more than 20 million views and Brown has gained hundreds of thousands of followers, even garnering a verified Instagram account, as people await a resolution to her unique problem.
Even as people offered her advice, she said she tried everything and nothing would work.
