After making history on Sunday, becoming the second-youngest Grammy winner, Blue Ivy Carter flexed in her mom’s Instagram video a few days later, donning her rightful crown and sipping out of the golden cup she earned.
The 9-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and JAY-Z paid homage to her father in the video that was posted on Thursday, Vulture reported. In a kid-friendly fashion, the young artist’s photo was reminiscent of JAY-Z’s 2013 photos, which showed him drinking cognac from one of the awards he won that year.

While Blue Ivy earned a Grammy for her performance in her mother’s “Brown Skin Girl” video, Beyoncé also made history on Sunday, breaking the record for most Grammys won by a female artist. The 39-year-old, who now has 28 Grammys, collected multiple awards on Sunday, as Blavity previously reported.
Beyoncé’s “Black Parade” video earned recognition in the Best R&B Performance category, while “Brown Skin Girl” was named as the best music video. The queen also won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Savage (Remix),” alongside Megan Thee Stallion.
JAY-Z picked up his 23rd Grammy on Sunday, sharing the Best Rap Song award with his wife as a co-writer of “Savage (Remix).”
The “Brown Skin Girl” artist recapped the unforgettable night in the Instagram video that was posted on Thursday, which included a clip of the speech she gave at the Grammys.
“It’s my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times in such a difficult time,” she said in her speech. “So I wanted to uplift, encourage, celebrate all of the beautiful Black queens and kings that continue to inspire me and inspire the whole world.”
The video ends with the classic image of Blue Ivy showing off her victory crown and cup.
“Congratulations Blue. She won a Grammy tonight. I’m so proud of you, and I’m so honored to be your mommy, all of your mommys,” the 9-year-old’s mother said, adding recognition for all her children. “Y’all are my babies. And I’m so proud of y’all. I love you so much, my rock. Enjoy your night. Thank you.”
